Web sites are no longer just pages of information, or "brochures-on-line".
They have developed into being small self-contained programs that download into your computer and interact with it and you in a very sophisticated and precise way.

A design begins by defining a site's purpose and deciding what people will want to do and where we want them to go when they visit.

Based on these choices the main area of activity in the site are laid out with links and navigation routes that take visitors through the site, gathering information, and bringing them to a point where they can then order, purchase, download, make contact, or book.

With this in place the secondary areas of information are structured around the main pages and graphics and artwork are prepared to visually enhance the site.

Now the site can be built, first in html, the internet formatting language. Java scripts and dynamic html are added to provide visual interactivity and add functionality. Keywords, unix and cgi programming are added that enable the site to work for us while it is entertaining our visitors.

The site is then checked, tested and prepared for publishing. When it is ready it must be registered with the relevant authority and needs a "place to be" (this place is called it's "domain").
